Finally an update.... Sorry these are taking so long. Seems like it takes forever to get parts these days and I've been busier than expected with other gauges recently. I still have to wire up the lights and do final testing and assembly on these first 3, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel ;)

As you can see, each one is made to order and all the parts are custom made depending on the configuration and movements. Once I get these first 3 out the door I'll probably start another small batch of them.

Finally... The first one is done and almost ready to send to Jeff. Hope to have the other 2 done in the next couple days.

Brilliant!

2 more just about ready to ship. This first batch of 3 took much longer than I anticipated and I'm looking at a couple changes to the design to make the assembly easier.

Dang these look amazing!

First triple gauge went out last week. These are proving to be very time consuming to build but we're making a few changes to the design which will hopefully reduce the time required to assemble them.

One more quad gauge shipped today and one more in progress. I'm going to take a few weeks to catch up then I'll consider building another small batch of these.

Hey, that's mine! I will be camped at the post office until further notice.

Thanks for doing this.

Truly beautiful work. Any car would love one of your gauges.

Would love to have one of the quad gauges as above for my 930. Any idea if there’s a digital to analog signal converter for the AFR gauge?

Damn this is amazing! Any chance of a gauge for us 912E owners that would replace the leftmost gas gauge with gas + oil pressure + AFR?

Most of the wideband controllers have a 0-5V analog output. The 3 most popular wideband controllers seem to be (AEM 30-0310, Innovate LC-2, and PLX SM-AFR)

No problem doing triple gauge with gas, oil pressure, and AFR

sunlion 06-23-2021 07:24 PM

I’ve got the PLX device.

Do you have the older one in the metal box or the newer plastic one? They both have the 0-5V analog output but the older one is very slow. Do you have any AFR gauge in the car now?

sunlion 06-23-2021 07:29 PM

I’ve got the new one in the plastic box. Also got their digital readout gauge but nowhere is really good to put it so it can be read at a glance.

The analog output from the new PLX works well with my AFR gauges. Another, less expensive, option is to replace the clock with one like this.

I’ve got a 935 boost gauge in the clock position and that stays. I don’t really need the voltage gauge so perhaps that’s cheaper. PM me prices if that’s best. Do you require my original gauge?

Here's a 904 "style" triple gauge I'm finishing up. I was lucky to find a core 356 gauge on eBay so I used the 3 rounded lenses and the chrome center ring to build this gauge. These get expensive to build because you need that original 356 gauge plus all the other parts.

I'm working on a couple more combo gauges that should be finished up in the next couple weeks and I'm able to build a couple more before my son heads off to school. My son does all the CAD and machine work for the custom faces and parts that go into these gauges and he is heading back to school in a few weeks. So... if anyone is interested in a triple or quad gauge let me know in the next week or so and I'll have him make the necessary parts before he leaves. Next chance to order one will be over the Xmas holiday.

This is going to be a stretch, but I'd like to investigate the possibility of a quad gauge as a replacement for my BMW 3.0CS clock. The stock left-most gauge on a CS is equivalent to the double-gauge for Porsche, as far as I can tell. As soon as I can get a measurement of the clock, I'll see what can work.

Example dual gauge:

The gauge in your picture and I believe the clock are the size of the small Fuel/Oil level combo gauge in the 911. The quad gauges are based on the larger Oil Temp/Pressure combo gauge. There is no way to fit 4 gauges into the small clock-size case.

I'm working on trying to put 3 gauges in a small case but even to do that is proving to be challenging.
