Goldmine of Air Cooled DIY articles

Finally, some high quality DIY articles for our cars.
These appear to be comprehensive & excellent quality.
Well written. Proper photos. Aimed towards beginners, not experts.
These were all written last year, in 2019, filling a much needed gap in the DIY community.

Good reading and motivation for beginners who have no mentors or resources to learn DIY.
Should spur DIY parts sales at Pelican, even if not written by Pelican.

Thanks! Love the PP articles too but the pictures are better here. I got on the forum today to start a pedal cluster rebuild and there it was with great pics.

I follow him on Instagram. He did a great job refurbishing his CIS.

Did not know about these articles — they are well done!

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy car parts which is kind of the same thing.

Yes, the PP Tech articles are not bad, but the photos are clumsy. This guy clearly had improved on it.
These articles are just another part of the toolbox, and I would read both PP and this guy for a given project.

I came across these a few weeks back and he definitely does a better job than the pelican articles (as a novice, i can't use PP articles confidently).

What members post here + discussion is great also.

The PP Tech articles (and the book I paid for that essentially duplicates them) gets a bit old with "....other models have similar steps".

It is especially frustrating having a 930.

Thanks.

The more the merrier. I'll read these, read the Pelican ones, and read Wayne's book then go in with information gleaned from all sources.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. These are just another flavor of the same topics found elsewhere. Personally, I like to read the same procedure from more than 1 source before tackling something new, that way all sources together fill as many information gaps as possible. Think Wayne's books + Bentley + Factory Service manuals + People's DIYs = pretty good chance of success.

Porsche people are some of the most generous car folks I have ever met so I'm just trying to contribute however I can, starting with the easy stuff, of course.

It seems like there has been some 911 DIY content made in the last 2 years.
I had given up and stopped looking years ago. It looks like it's time to use YouTube as a DIY resource FINALLY.

Here is a channel that has 70 videos of restoration steps.

Does anyone know what happened to these links in the first post?
Are the articles still online or would anyone otherwise care to share them with me? I own Wayne's 101 projects book. But it's always good to stock up on these articles. I might even prohibit me from asking silly questions on the forum

Wow, except for #7 & 8 I have done all those things to my 85 911 and more. I guess it comes from 25 year of ownership and driving it 100,000 miles.

I change out my brake fluid each and every spring, so the master cylinder is is great shape. I have had the bronze bearings for the brake pedal for many years waiting on the day I need to replace the pedal bushings. All seems fine so I will not fix what ain't broke.

A quick google shows the website is still there. Looks like our host scrapped the links.
