Hello Pat
I have been looking for pictures of the temperature sensor installations and I noticed that the cabin temperature sensor seems to be in a wrong place in this picture of yours. Have you corrected this?
My understanding of the correct placement for the cabin temperature sensor (yellow) is in the short connection between the T-piece and the blend valve……….

The yellow sensor (cabin sensor) in the picture was connected wrong but was corrected later.

Since I live in Florida I have not used the heat function of the ventilation system in over 10 years. With that said, I removed both blend valves and the two “T” adapters. I use the two blend valve holes as cabin air return lines into the evaporator. I disconnected the heat duct connections and just pass through on the left and right side foot wells. This allowed the cold air lines to be separated from the return lines where they were connected next to each other at the bottom of blend valve. I also connected the defrost vents to the evaporator. I ended up with the following:

1. Two return lines coming from the two blend valve holes to the evaporator.
2. Center vents coming from the evaporator.
3. Two side vents coming from evaporator.
4. Bow tie and passenger center footwell vent from evaporator.
5. Each heat vent lines feeding to the left and right foot wells. Controlled by heat fan switches near handbrake.
6. Widow defrost lines connected to evaporator.
7. Removed both blend valves and associated Bowden cables.
8. Did not install the two “T” connectors and associated hoses.
9. Closed completely off the fresh air vent at the top of the evaporator.
10. The top sliders only function is to supply control over the three speed fan in the evaporator. Bottom two sliders are no longer used.

In essence I made the changes to suit my needs and I have kept all of the removed parts just in case I want to undo my changes.

I assume the booster/reservoir move is one you are glad you did?
and all the hydraulics remained attached?

During the initial installation I did loosen the brake booster assembly in order to get a little more room. It should be noted that I have previously had the brake booster assy removed years ago so I had some knowledge on what to do. Since then I have removed both blend valve assembly’s and the “T” adapters to have more room and simplify the air plumbing.

More Lessons Learned?

I know you finished up a while ago on your install for the AC, to do it over again, would you have changed location of your drier bottle, routing of the fill ports or any of the #8 and #6 hoses? Are you finding any ways to deal with condensation? Thought of any pluses or minus’ for wrapping the blower like Hannu?

Earlier I posted a pic of the condensation on the outside of the evaporator. I decided to wrap the evaporator and air vent lines with insulation. Also used an insulated sheet/blanket to separate the evaporator from the front of the trunk. Once the carpet was layer in you cannnot see the insulated blanket.

I would not change the way I did the install if I had to do it again. It should be noted that any changes I made during the install was to suit my personal preferences. Could I have followed the instructions in the manual to the letter? Yes, but I feel the changes I did made the system more functional for my need.
