Can C2 deck lid w/ electric spoiler fit my '85 Carrera?
I really like the modest looks of the C2 deck lid and electric spoiler. Would love to have it sitting on the back of my '85 Carrera. I believe someone on the board did a similar retrofit to their '70's 911.
Does anyone know offhand if I buy a decklid/spoiler combination from a '95 Carrera, will it fit my '85?? Thanks. jlex.

Run a search on "C2 decklid"...
And no, a 993 decklid will not work. it has to be a 964 decklid. You have to modify the hinges to fit it onto a 69-89. |

And you will have to remove the A/C condenser.

89-94 only. In 95, they changed the shape of the decklid.

I'd say $4-500 is average, more if everything is there and it's in great shape, plus paint. I think they were much cheaper when guys first started buying them.

Thanks for all the great replies, guys.... but are you saying that the AC condenser has to be totally removed, therefore no more air conditioning??? I couldn't take that. Has anyone on the board fitted such a deck lid and spoiler without having to disturb the condenser coils??? Thanks again.
jlex.

Ryan: What are you doing for your a/c condenser?
Jlex: You can go with the Performance Aire underbelly condenser in place of the rear decklid unit.

You will need to lose the Deck lid mounted a/c condenser if you want a C2 tail but you have a few options.
-The belly condenser seems like the best solution. Jack races his car w/ a belly condenser and it’s taken some hard shots and has held up well. -There is a condenser made to fit in the left rear fender but I don’t know anybody who has used it. -You can fit a 964/993 (I think either?) left front fender condenser like Scott did. He could give you a list of all the parts you would need and this might be the least expensive. For now I’m going to run w/o the A/C, Winter is coming anyway. Next spring I may have the Performance Aire underbelly condenser installed and the rest of the system refreshed/replaced.

Scott: did you fit a condenser to your left front fender like Ryan says? I'd like to go that route if possible to have the advantage of a fan blowing across the coils. If you have any info on costs & parts, I'd surely appreciate it. Hopefully, its something I can do myself.
regards, jlex.

This is really funny. Carrera and SC guys want to upgrade to C2 deck lid. While I am trying to put a ducktail on my C2.
Anyway, I think MA Shaw sells an adapter that will let you put the C2 deck lid on the 911. --- anthony |

Anthony: That is funny... when you get the ducktail, give me a jingle on your C2 lid. I'll do a search for MA Shaw.
