Question Sources for this tail....

I saw the 3.8RS tail on a car similar to mine at Hershey this weekend and am now making plans. I looked around and found the tail at a few places (sadly, not at Pelican) as a bolt on to the existing engine cover. Anyone know of a place to find the entire rear lid with this tail incorporated as in this pic? Thanks.

Nate.

Another Porsche guy out lookin' for tail...

MA Shaw makes these, as well as GT Racing, Rennspeed Motorsports, etc.

The guy who does my carbon fiber fab is working on a set of molds for a similar tail, which in carbon-kevlar, will weigh between 5 and 8 pounds.

MA Shaw and Garrett has two versions. One is narrower for the narrow body SC style. The other is wider for the Turbo flares. Garret had the narrow version on EBAY last week for about $450, which is a great deal. They list for about $1K.

I got mine from Getty Design, on ebay, they have them regularly, and they generally go for about the initial bid, $499, which is what I paid for mine. The narrow version looks much better on cars with just Carrera flares, so that's what I got. I will caution that like most fiberglass parts, there is a fair amount of prep and fitting before paint, and even then I have one corner that's a hair high, and nothing can be done. Its simply not a factory fit, but certain acceptable. The wing itself is c/f, but needs to be painted or cleared. I also filled in the 3.8 on the endplate, leaving just the RS, as I thought the 3.8 looked inappropriate on a 3.2.

Oh yeah, PAR had one on ebay last week, do a search, that didn't reach reserve-high bid was $350, you might want to call them. No idea whether it was the full size or scaled down wing.
