What radio is this in my 1981 911 Turbo
Looking to identify radio model and if it’s original period correct before I decide to have it repaired or replaced. It’s in the 81 Turbo I just bought and won’t power on. Thanks !

pull it and check for sticker or engravings.
optical features are not suggesting it is a Blaupunkt or Becker. you'll need these: https://www.amazon.de/Entriegelungsschl%C3%BCssel-ISO-BLAUPUNKT-PHILIPS-OPEL/dp/B0029XY3NQ/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=Autoradio+Klammern&qid=1614154753&sr=8-5

I never seen that radio before. Curious as to the model, but to me looks like its newer than 1981 because its digital and i would guess mid 80s
Being a euro 930, blaupunkt bamberg qts would have been a common radio for 81-82’ I have blaupunkt cr-typ de radio available for sale that was used in 79-80’ 930 euro cars. Possibly 81’ if it was build in 1980 Last edited by lada03; 02-24-2021 at 09:41 AM.. |

That looks to be a a dealer-installed radio used by Porsche, Volkswagen and Audi in the mid- or even late 80's, in Canada, possibly in the US market as well. It was made by Panasonic and sold through dealers under the Autobahn umbrella of accessories, VW part number X 034 300 D. The window where the "Porsche" script is had interchangeable logos for all three brands.

Had that exact radio in my 86 Jetta Carrat, Canada. The tape deck and the output stage gave problems.
