It's more likely that the bottom clips are not seating. Have a look at the wires on the bottom row and make sure none are in the way of the two slots in the metal bracket. There are hundreds of fuse panels in service with covers fitted. We supply fuses with all our panels and they have not changed in height.

I reinstalled it and everything seems to be working. I ended up soldering small blade type wire terminals to all of the wires and attached them into the same locations they came out of. The only minor issue now is the the cover doesn’t fit as it should. Unlike the issue mentioned above, mine clears the fuses, however it just seems to be about 4 mm too long, so it doesn’t snap into both sets of the tabs that hold it in place.

If the clear cover appears too long, it might be that the ends are not fully bent at 90 deg. They are meant to be slight over bent so that they spring back. Apply a little heat at the corner gently and push them round a bit further.

I would strongly suggest CR consider supplying a cover they know will fit and or adapted to their panel so others can avoid this non fit issue...being somewhat OCD..it kills me that I cant fit the cover as snugly as before the change over. I fully endorse the product but wish they would take these suggestions into consideration (as I said, I never got any response when I wrote them)

Sorry, just saw the CR response and there is NO doubt in my mind that there is a higher fuse profile..its the physics of the fuse itself that dictates this. I did look at the bottom wires and made every effort to adjust them and still the panel refuses to clip in because of the height difference of the fuses.
Maybe some folks got lucky, maybe most ignored the issue..but I do not believe this is the first time anyone has had this issue bob |
