Cool Can I have my Horsepower Junkies membership card now?

Engine is in! '75 911S non-sunroof coupe with '77 930 3.0 power.
Despite every seven-year-old kid in the neighborhood saying "it will never fit."
As you can see, it still needs some work. Haven't cranked it yet. It's going to be a long day at work tomorrow

How are you going to get all that power to the ground? There's a reason Porsche flared out the fenders.

Have fun. Sounds like an exciting project is coming to an end.

That's gonna be one wheel-spinnin' beast!

Between you and k9handler, you're starting a new skinny-bodied, middle-year sleeper trend! What transmission are you using?

Add a intercooler if you can, they run much better/safer with it. If you add one you can safely crank up the boost to 1 bar...

Great job Like others said, intercoolers are good, however the cost of the cooler and a wing to hold it is prohibitive. So if you can swing it, it's something to think about it, otherwise forget about it and have fun! Just keep the boost down...

Speak to Juan, Victor and Merv - I think they are on the committe for the HP Junkies but for what its worth (I'm just an associate committee member currently) you definitely deserve your membership card ASAP and probably a committee position to boot!

Well done and have heaps of blown fun.

Nice looking car. I like the colors on the engine and of the car itself. They coordinate well. The package you have now is very balanced. The 3.0T should work just fine in a narrow bodied car.
Well done!

Impressive.
Has anyone ever grafted an i/c into a ducktail somehow? That way you would get the benefits of intercooling but keep the sleeper profile.

Enjoy it.

The lesson learned here is that most media pundits are about as accurate as seven-year-old kids in their dire predictions.

Thanks for the kind words. It's been a long haul because I took the motor all the way down to the crankshft for resealing, headstuds, bearings, rings, etc. But 270HP and 2400 lbs should be worth it.

Flares: I know there will be traction problems, and am not ruling out Carrera flares, but want to get the engine going first. I'm actually wondering if a ton of traction will spell early death for the 915, so will have to balance out the upgrades. I'd eventually like a cooler on the transmission, because I'd like to do DEs with the car.

I'll also need some suspension work, but have not researched it yet.

Intercooler: I have a used Turbo tail, but not the IC setup...this will probably come in a while. I do like the tail-less look, though, and a turbo tail will look goofy despite being functional. Slacker, let me know if you work out a ducktail solution - that would be ideal.

One thing I need to do right away is get an Elephant Carrera cooler up front to replace the trombone. As soon as I hear the engine idle, it's going in.

I'm still working with a hydraulic shop on fuel lines, but should have them by the end of the week. I chose a Crane HI-6 ignition and coil, and have powered it up but not cranked it yet.

Thanks to everyone for the help...couldn't have done this without you. JW, Beep, Dean, Brad and Jim Sims, Rarly, and others (you all know who you are) - I appreciate all the help.

Let's hope it starts!

Colin,
Looks like you have it under controll.
Car looks great, you'll be on the track/streets
before you know it.
Let me know if I can help with parts, you should
be able to get a stock intercooler cheap.
You need at least 4 votes from "H.P. Junkies" to be a
certified Junkie.

You have Amac vote!!!!

Get you a cool pair of sunglasses, on the dark side
the sun shines on you all the time.
