Steel Wheel and 930 brakes???

well while up at TRE I saw the car that is getting all the publicity about being built by a shadey garage...

Tyson pointed out that the guy had steel wheels widened a la jack's BB2

I thought it looked really really good and kept the car period looking...(also jared comments peeked my interest)

this is something I may explore for the orange soft rear targa

The birth of the Signal Orange Soft Window Targa!!!

any idea the availibility of steel wheels and hubcaps??
costs???
the steel wheels look an aweful lot like the spare tires..??!!??

I was thiking getting them to 16" and maybe mess with the widths and get alot of rubber in there...

also what about calipers?
I was planning to do SC calipers on SC suspension for the targa...
but if I've also flirted with the idea of 930s (I have a set at home)...the steel wheels would cover them up and no one would be the wiser...

ultimate sleeper...

any ideas???

thanks

MJ

not sure of the brakes fitting, but here is a pic of a car that is now 'oranger' and with steel wheels that grew in diameter.

MJ, there was an article in excellence where they put some guages in a Carrera cab that were custom made with the green numbers and green/red graphics style of a 356 with a black face. (i'm guessing you mean green numbers, not green faces!?!) maybe someone has a back issue handy? about a year or two ago...i think, max

I'm sure North Hollywood Speedometer could do the retro gauge faces in a heartbeat.

These guys can probably build you the wheels if you make some measurements.
