Rennline Tie Down Set installation question.

Believe or not this is my first install.

I'm seeing two different ways to install the tie down/slash skid protection hooks. One pic shows the hook receptacles outboard another inboard.

I'm leaning outboard. Also it looks like the oem protection cap is eliminated. Rennline provided new fasteners and lock washers but no instructions.....any suggestions on using Loctite?

I am planning on an install tomorrow. After a breakfast and warm up for the oil change.

Both front wheels up in the air, supported by non Harbor Freight jack stands under the A Arms.

Got a good deal on a Craftsman combo 4 ton jack stands and floor jack. $50 off Craigslist. If you don't hear from me, it was a bad deal.

It sucks having all my tools still back in CO.

Just don’t hit anything head on with them. Seen a few race cars that hit them on the edge of the track after an off-road excursion and rip the nut certs out of the front suspension pan.

what you see is just the left or right hook been mounted left/right. you can interchange them to your liking position. no gig deal.

Did the install, one didn't fit the passenger side. One hole didn't line up. Swapped it to the other side. So the hooks are inboard.

The stock scraper took a good hit. I think it was at Willow Springs back in the day.

Even though I have more protection I'm still going to take it slower.
