Any AEM Infinity Users Here?
Hoping to engage some people that are using the Infinity 506 on their aircooled Flat 6 motors. I'm trying to understand how the MAP sensor comes into play in the tune. Here is the back story.
A few years ago, I rebuilt a motor and went down the path of buying throttle bodies and buying the AEM kit and wiring from Rasant. (they no longer sell AEM) The kit was for my 3.0 SC motor (actually a Carrera 3 but very similar) and came with a base tune, map sensor, etc. The supplied tune was set using MAP on the Load Axis for ignition and Lambda tables; I interpret this as Speed Density. It was tuned by the local shop, the car ran fine and that was that. But in my quest to rebuild the motor with more compression and biggers cams to make use of the throttle bodies, I met someone who told me that ITBs do not produce much vacuum and hence the tune would not be maximised down low. Google reading produced much the same reasoning. So we changed the tune file so that it now used TPS on both the ignition and Lambda tables. I understand this to be Alpha N. OK, car still runs great, not that much different to me, but if the tuner says it is, I have to believe him right? I was hoping that now I would be able to get rid of my vacuum tubes if the MAP sensor was not needed anymore, but I am trying to now understand what role the MAP sensor plays and how it affects the tune, as it definately does still affect the tune... A short while ago, I connected the vacuum tubes from the throttles to an electronic balancer to re-sync my throttles, which meant the MAP was open to atmosphere.. and whilst the car ran, it ran so rich it was puking... the lambda reading dropped to 9 or 10 and I couldnt run it like this. Is anyone else running an engine setup like mine with the AEM that we can share maps back and forth? or is someone willing to hold my hand and walk me through the Wizard... Or is mine the only AEM still running and everyone else has switched to Motec? Here is the link to download the tune file. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Hpo6f7AcY7FYvzERZHE2YXOusjW5aWaB/view?usp=sharing

Mike, we have talked offlilne about AEM. We have used them on 5 motors. No issues. When I was down at Singer a couple of years ago, they were using AEM as well. Not sure what they use now...
