Fan Polishing & Cerakote Clear

So there is a local place (precisionmetalrestoration.com) that will polish your fan and coat it in Cerakote (youtube.com/watch?v=bqLh70yIfxk) clear for $175. His business is primarily service the antique fixtures in the hotels of New Orleans.
My fan was in pretty bad shape. I told the guy that I would rather have the imperfections than for him to polish them out. I didn’t want to risk making things too thin and messing with the structural integrity. I’m sure he can polish it far more if you request. It was a mirror after he finished (minus the dings and nicks) but the clearcoat dulls it a bit.
I’m curious how this cerakote will hold up. We will see.

I know there are cheaper/better routes to take for a factory look but I thought I would try this for a few years.

Not exactly "polished". But, Cerakote will certainly protect the finish from deteriorating

We do all our coatings, dry film moly, Duracoat and Cerakote in-house. We only do a few items like fans, alternator housing, bearings and throttle bodies.
Our oven is pretty small and we don't really have the facility to do anything larger.
I have to admit the occasional 1911 makes it in the mix when the spirit moves me.

Of course these firearms are all toy replicas. I lost my gun collection a few years back in a tragic boating accident....

We did this a few years back in HK Duracoat black.

I forgot to mention that we do all our own zinc plating in-house as well.

We also reproduce the early fan center for those with late fans on early back date type projects.

For those out there who have never seen a worn out fan pulley/center.
Two different types of wear. Both extreme to better illustrate the issues.

This and back-dating late centers is why we found a need to reproduce a new Chromoly "early" center.
