Speedometer Problems
I have a 1989 porsche 911 cabriolet that has a speedometer/odometer problem. The speedometer doesn't start working until the car warms up and then works fine. This started happening after I moved the car from California to Oregon on a trailer.Throwing this out there it rained most of the 8 hour trip Water might have cause this problem?

It's unlikely that water caused this but it's a possibility that the move loosened a connector. The only thing I can think of, that would make sense, would be a bad connection or ground. Check the connections in the back of the tunnel (under the cover in the back) and also the connections on the back of the speedometer. My guess is that if you make sure they are clean and tight that it may fix your issue.

The speedo in my 87 has the same problem. I'd be interested to hear what you learn.

Exact same problem here too with my 89. Ditto curious what you find. I’ll be looking when I get time I’ll post what I find too.
