What's best I know small looks better but ?

You need to consider that a smaller size will limit your visibility of the instruments - that is why you see many people rotating their speedometer

Personal taste. Smaller diameter means greater force required.

It would be interesting to know who decided that "small looks better". I think just the opposite.

I went from 350mm to 400 mm and couldn't be happier.
Much better view of the instruments, slightly less effort required for parking lot (slow) maneuvers and a much more relaxed feeling on the highway.

Weren't the original wood rimmed wheels on the earliest 911s quite large in diameter?

330 is way to small. Top ring will be right in middle of gauges, useless. I've ran several and keep coming back to the 380 size, just right if you ask me. I only slightly preferred my 360 Prototipo for autox, but again just slightly, and for road driving 380 every time.

I went with a 360mm Autodromo MPI wheel on my 84 E30 and it's perfect sized, turn-in feels great and turning lock to lock is easy.

I fall into the bigger is better category too. I like the classic look of a bigger steering wheel, and I like the more relaxed feel. I took off my Prototipo (360) because it interfered with the gauges. Much happier with a thinner, larger diameter wheel.

You should use whatever you like better in your car. The steering wheel is the main way we interact with our cars.

I love the look and feel of my 370mm. I had a 350 on my prior '89 and on this '71 but they tend to obscure critical gauges during routine driving. The 370s do not.

smaller (not too small) and thicker look better, feel better, turn quicker and more precise (for me)

where would one get a 370 mm wheel like that? i know that there are vintage ones but they are far and few and pricey.

Mine is a 1981 date stamped Prototipo. I found it on eBay a few years back. I just had to wait for the right car to put it on.

You can also hawk the Pelican used part forum, but they’re hot right now, so they tend to sell quickly.

I too went with a 400mm. Very happy but I know the 350 is popular - but wrong :)

I just purchased and then returned a MOMO Heritage Indy 350MM. It was just felt ridiculously un-substantial. I currently have an aftermarket Dino wheel on my car that also obscures the gauges and probably is no bigger than a 360 at best but it's just beefier. I realize now that if I'm going to purchase another wheel it will be no less than a 370MM but wooden ones in that size are $$$ and very hard to find.

Well, I can tell you from my experience of 20+ yrs of steering wheel collecting and driving, racing, restoring vintage sports cars, most of them were 911s. Due to the lower weight on the front end, a 350mm wheel will do it BUT a lot of folks that are looking for wheels contact me and ask for 370mm steering wheels. I always have 2-3 wheels in the car and on long tours that I do in my favourite 911, I change wheels from time to time. But, if we're speaking about ONE FITS ALL, I would do bigger than 350, my favourites in those sizes are either the Momo Rally 2000 (which is a semi-dish) suede 360mm wheel or a 370mm Prototipo or Abarth.
