Any tips - early 964 Brembo scraper seal removal?

Need the experts advice here - I have a pair of the early 964 front Brembo 4-pistion calipers that have the scraper style dust seal, similar to the 930 calipers. Before I go and ding up the calipers or worse I thought I would ask the best way to remove these seals for replacement. I have read somewhere (which I can't find that link now) that one can grab the metal ring with something akin to wire cutters and crimp it a bit and pull it out.
There is not a lot of room in there and I can seem to get any purchase on the ring with the clippers I have. Doesn't look like I can get a small screwdriver in there to pry it out without damaging the piston bore into which the seal is inserted.

Any tips? I have found the rebuild kit so no problem getting a new set of seals.

Thanks as always for any tips.

Bill

I just did my front 1986 brembos. "Barn find" 1986 911 turbo
On page 10 I show the 2 plastic scrapers I sanded down to have radius tips that match the OD of the scrapers. After the pistons are out, i was able to gently tap these in place behind the scraper, tap in gently with little 4 ounce hammer, mover over tap in again, keep working around the scraper until it's out. I am pretty sure I could have reused the scrapers, but I replaced them with new.

Thanks - that worked! Still a bit of a pain, but no risk of damaging the calipers. I wound up using a bike tire lever which I found to be hard enough to withstand the beating (more than tapping to get mine loose). I ground the end of the lever with a die grinder to get the right shape.

Pelican to the rescue as always!

For anyone else trying to replace these seals, shooting some PB Blaster around the perimeter of the seal really helps loosen it up. I had one that would not budge banging on the plastic scraper, but came right out after letting it sit for a couple of minutes after PB Blasting it. Wish I had tried that right from the start, would have saved me much time...
