Who made this valve grinding machine?

I purchased a Snap-on valve grinding machine from a shop which was closing. I can find no model information on it. The information on the motor just covers the GE motor.

I am suspecting that Snap-on machines of this size are made by someone else, but don't know.

What I am looking for is a manual.

And what I need a manual for is to help figure out why the oil pump isn't squirting oil.

So I can grind my 911 valves, of course.

Walt

Harry

I saw that when Googling (and it caused me to suspect Snap-On put their brand on something also sold under another name by its maker), but the picture doesn't match up. I suppose I could contact the guy, though, to ask my question. He's got to know more than I do.

That valve grinder is a Quik Way VS. I have one and its one of the best and most accurate valve grinders you will find.

Walt, after taking a closer look at your picture and my valve grinder, your machine is probably a Quik-Way SV model not a VS model which is only slightly different.

I have a manual for your machine (SV) but in looking at it I'm not sure it will tell you what you want to know. If your interested, I'd be willing to mail my manual to you so you can make photocopies of it, then just mail it back.

Have you checked to see if the pump motor runs when you turn the switch on? The switch is a three way (on/off/on) and the pump should run when the switch is in both the far left and far right positions. If the pump is running and nothing is coming out of the valves over both grinding wheels you should see bubbles in the oil around the pump. Also, make sure the valves are open fully above the grinding wheels. BTI, the inside of the oil valves can become clogged with fine grinding grit and should be taken apart and cleaned.

Hope this helps.
