Front A Arm bushings
I'm replacing the rubber front and rear bushings for the A arms. I have the front bushings pressed on the arms and indexed as per Elephant Racing's instructions.
The rear bushings were pressed into thd sleeve by hand. I lubed the shaft of the arm and the inside diameter of the bushing. I'm using a 12 ton press to press it on the arm. When the bushing bottomed out, I noticed the bushing inside the sleeve had stretched inside the sleeve such that the bushing was flush with the outside edge of the sleeve. Is this normal of should the bushing stay the way it is shown or below, 3/8" below the edge of the sleeve. Last edited by Raypratojr; 04-28-2021 at 05:00 PM.. |

Do you have a pic to better explain this? I think I understand this to be that the rear arm bushing has stretched some where the outside edge of the bushing is almost flush with the outside edge of the arm?
I just installed mine and they definitely stretched some, but using the ER tool, they seemed to sit per the pictures.

![]() This is a pic of the bushing in the shell before I pressed it on the shaft of the arm. You can see how the bushing falls way short of reaching the edge of the shell. I don't have a pic of the installed bushing because I was in a hurry to pull it off because I didn't want to distort the bushing. However, after installing it on the arm, the black bushing was stretched inside the shell to the point it was flush with the outside edge of the shell. |
