Oil pressure warning light
1972 911.
My oil pressure warning light does not illuminate at all. I replaced the bulb and that did not solve the issue. I also bridged the two wires from the switch and it did not light up. I had my gauges out to be restored so I want to check that I have the correct wires running to the warning light bulb and didn’t run the wrong wires when I put the gauges back in. The bulb has 2 brown wires on a piggyback spade and a black and white wire with a green stripe running to the other spade. Here are some photos. ![]() |

Well - never mind. I think I figured it out. That top light on my gauge isn’t oil pressure - it is the e-brake and brake failure light. I have driven this car very little after a long restoration and am still getting familiar with it!

Green/Red is oil pressure signal wire to gauge.

Thanks guys. Yes, oil pressure gauge works perfect. Just what I thought was the warning/idiot light. I think I’m good now.
