JWest Rennshift Shifter

Hello,
I purchased a new Rennshift and I want to retain the heater control lever. There is no provision for it in the base of the shifter.

Any suggestions besides milling a slot to accept the lever?
I called and emailed JWest, but they haven't replied, or called back. Apparently, this is their SOP.

Hi, the heater controls are on your handbrake assembly, no need to modify anything.

I wonder if you are confusing the Rennshift shift lever with something different? Maybe the Hargett Performance shifter? I have a Rennshift in my car and it fits exactly the same as the stock shift lever, which doesn't affect the heat control levers at all - they are typically integrated around the parking brake lever, not the shift lever... Here's a photo of the JWest Rennshift shifter from their website - is this the one you are referring to?
Best,
Tom

What year is your 912. 74-87 should mostly be the same 915 style tower which the jwest replaces entirely. As mentioned the heater lever is back by the hand brake.

65-67 912 (don’t know about same year 911’s) have the heater lever directly in front of the shifter. I would cut a slot since the shifter is such a marked improvement over stock. The Rennshift fits either 901 or 915 transmissions. Just have to turn them around somehow.
