Paint type used by Porsche in 1980's

Hi all,
I am trying to track down the TYPE of paint used by Porsche on the 911 in the 1980's. I have a 1988 model year (1987 assembly based on COA) 911 Targa in original A1 Black and am planning some minor paint repairs. I have a decent amount of painting experience and know how to blend well, however in order to achieve a feathered blend edge i need to match the paint type - by the late 80's a lot of cars were base-clearcoat, however as you all know Porsche were still using a single stage color topcoat that polished to an amazing shine. Does anyone know what paint it is - thermoplastic acrylic lacquer, acrylic enamel, ???..... TIA.

Personally on my 78 I have used acrylic enamel and it blended pretty well. (Years ago and still hard to see)
Guy at the paint store told me at the time it is the same formula as Chevy black…

Pretty sure the modern line is Glasurit Line 22, single stage

A quick search in the Paint & Bodywork forum should give you a definitive answer.

My 1988 black cabrio definitely does not have clear coat. Single stage porsche black, often referred to as A1 or 700

You'll get a pretty narrow blend between the old and new paint once you sand and polish but the good news is black is easy to match and the blends will be very difficult to spot.

22 line all the way.
