Can I Run Without These?
OK... I am reaching the end of the tensioner update, the first real work I've done on any car.
The tensioners & new oil lines are in place... the muffler, engine shelf, & hoses that run through the engine shelf still haven't been put back on. I would like to start the car as it is, and let it run for a few minutes to make sure I don't have any oil leaks. I would hate ta have to take the muffler and shelf off again to tighten a banjo bolt a turn. So here is the question... is it possible, or advisable, to run the car for a few minutes without the 2 hoses that run from beneath the car, through the shelf, into the engine compartment attached? Is there another reasonable way to check for leaks? |
Block them off if you run the car without them connected...
I would bolt the muffler on without using the straps, as long as you're not driving the car. This will take about five minutes... -Wayne |
