1987 Carrera Tool Kit Contents

Happy Sunday gang!

I’m curious to know what tolls are missing from my 87 coupe’s tool kit. I couldn’t find a list online and was wondering if someone had a list or can point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance!

-Kamak

The PET isn't always the greatest source for this. Can you lay out your tools and post a photo? That will help.

Also check out this thread (sort of a running reference thread with additional links): 85 Toolkit

And this website: http://www.356to911tools.com/

FWIW, it was my understanding that US cars in ‘87 did not include the tow hook in their tool kits.

For that matter, the tow hook in the illustration (#12) was early SC and the mid-years. It was never part of a Carrera tool kit.

BTW, that website www.356to911tools.com is a work in progress, but just browsing through it I've found some errors. It's a great effort so far, but it uses photos that were scooped off the Internet. It may also use the associated descriptions, which may not be correct. I actually found a photo of the tool set I bought here on Pelican a couple of years ago.

Oh, interesting Ivan. I didn't know that. I was thinking of the solid tow hook like you have. But I think some years that may have been Euro only? Not sure.

Here is a photo of the tool kit from my "87 3.2 sunroof coupe.

Note that it does not include the tow hook, or the items listed in the PET as '88+.

The fuse pack is not shown because I don't keep it in the roll-up pouch - it kept falling out and getting misplaced.

While it is conceivable that something is missing, I'm only the second owner of this car and it was sold to me with all documentation (including the rare radio instruction booklet), the compressor, and the tools, so it is likely that the took kit is "as delivered" from the original dealer.
