Can someone tell me, is there any visual or installation differences from a 944 mirror to a 911 flag style mirror?

Seems in last months Excellence they upgraded a 944 from flag mirrors to the later style (993?) mirrors. Anyway I seem to remember looking at the way the 944 mirrors were mounted and they were different from a 911. Is that answer vague enough for you?

Thats what I'm wondering. I have heard that the mounting points are different. How much cause for concern is this? Can it be cheaply remedied or is it just better to bite the bullet and spend the extra $100 on flag mirrors designed for the 911?

crashr, they're different from what I understand...I spend the extra money and get the right part...
shameless plug: if you want a used set, I am going to be updating my mirrors to the aero ones, so you can make me an offer on my power ones...

Mirrors are the same, but the mount, the part below the swivel, is different.
Also, if you drill holes, the driver and passenger sides mount in different places. |
