Air Duct Hose

Is there a place to source air duct hose (between the fan housing and the heat exchangers) other than by P/N?

Doing that gets you a 380mm length, (1965-1989) which is about an inch too short to be easily installed. I’m thinking originality be damned, just get some aircraft high-temperature hose and be done with it!

Try Wicks Aircraft Supply - they stock all sizes and grades of silicone aircraft ducting.

Just ordered some from Aircraft Spruce. No shipping notice after a week so I called. Apparently the hose I ordered (the orange 2.5 inch) is in extremely short supply. They are giving me a ship date of mid October. And I only ordered 3 feet of it to go from SSIs to heater box.

Let us know if you are able to get it from Wicks.

Good luck.

We buy the 2.5 inch in 12 foot lengths from a local hose/fitting/hydraulic supply house. It is a very good product.

Look locally at your local supply houses.

Cheers

Don’t we want it to accordion? Flexible is good here.

If you mean 930-211-622-01-OEM or any of the ones listed as 60mm diameter they do not fit as the diameter of the hose and the heater box and SSI outlets are all 60mm. The hose will not slide onto either side without having to slit the end to make it larger.

Aircraft stuff is usually pretty well made. The 2 1/2 inch tubing (63.5mm) is just big enough around to fit well. Same color as the Porsche hose (orange). May not be OEM but looks almost the same. Seen many post here where others have used it successfully so I will give it a try.

I live in a pretty small town. Not sure we have a hose/hydraulic supply house nearby but I will look around. Thanks for the suggestion.

Try a place like Summit Racing or HRP ... they carry Sceet ducting.A lot of people use that type of ducting for brake cooling as well.

I got tired of the poor fit of SCEET duct, so I paged through the ventilation section of the PET catalogs and looked for the longest sections of 60mm hose. These had the lowest cost per foot. I ordered two of these, and cut them down in to smaller lengths as needed.

Edit: I went back and tried to look through PET, but it looks like they've removed the hose dimensions form most of the part descriptions, so this method isn't so easy any more.

I've used this via Amazon for HE to engine blower. Cheap and durable and good looking (black).

Price has gone up since I’ve bought then. I guess it depends on your needs. For a car where you need/want all the details correct this is the right hose. I think I bought 5 feet and had enough for the engine to HE’s and for the blowers in the front trunk.
