Has anyone using LED headlamps with city lights considered using LEDs in the city light socket? Wondering if they would be bright enough to use as DRLs if wired that way.

I am running the 9Eleven headlights with chrome trim ring and fluted lens. I chose them as the only lights I could find that had a fluted lens option for the retro look, but that didn’t impact the projectors light pattern.

I also fabricated adaptors to run Morimoto Sealed6 lights in the Cibie hood light housings. These have projector high and low beams and LED daytime running lights. They also have a fluted lens for a slightly retro look.

They are awesome so awesome at night giving good quality white light, well defined cut off and long throw. Driving Texas backroads and especially doing 85+ on the toll way at night is amazing, especially since we have have wild pigs and boars that like to roam. I personally like the black insert with the clear VW Bus glass with the black lens rings. I feel it gives the car a slightly updated look. The only thing I didn’t care for was the black backing fitment. It was oversized and required some trimming and overall a pain to seal with the rubber gasket. But once assembled I haven’t had any issues for the nearly 3yrs I’ve had them.

Four high beams would be ideal (if aimed correctly and the fluted lenses don't interrupt the focus)
