At some point awhile back I ran across a website that someone made with very detailed pictures of all the different 911 and 912 toolkits. Broke down into years, exactly what tools for what kits with great photos etc. For the life of me I cannot find it again. Anyone have a link to it?

Porsche now sells a new kit, in a fancy leather case for about the same cost as the used OEM ones.

If I am remembering correctly - the person who was trying to do that site had picked up photos from a lot of sources and owners of those photos cried foul. There was some conversation of attempts to re-photo the items and/or credit the photographers but it sounded like it was not going well. Shortly after that the site went away.

Huge project sure wish it could be accomplished.

This kit is somewhat generic (one kit fits all), which would be fine for those who just need a kt. Would not appeal to those looking for "period correct" kits which vary from model year9s) to model year(s).

Right on Pelican they sell the one for the Carrera model.

I did not check to see if they have the SC version.

Well if the website is gone that’s a bummer. It was only a few months ago that I had seen it.
It was a great resource.

The Porsche kit is really nice. But a lot of cabbage ��. I made a similar set years ago with most of the tools in it.

None of those modern kits are correct. You can get a nice used vintage kit for around the same price, maybe less depending on year.

AFAICT what's official or otherwise isn't fully settled, even Porsche itself might not know.

It will be nice to see the 911 filled in like the 356 tool pouches.

As a photographer, there is one thing that bugs me about that site - at least some of the photos (maybe many) are grabbed off the web so there are copyright issues. I know there is no profit involved and it is a great resource for the community, but still. They are using a photo from the Pelican Buy and Sell thread that was for the tool kit I bought.

Which was incomplete, so the disclaimer is accurate. Probably other errors too, but still a nice site that hopefully will get even better over time.

right - IIRC, he is an MD who owns a 959 or 964. He offered to remove any pics that the person taking the pic wanted.

For a compleet overview of the different toolset for different years and cars, you can find the correct info on this page. (356 Roadster 1952 up to 993 1998)
This is a page from a Belgian specialist in restaurations, made most of the pics themselves during there long historie of restaurations.
They even contacted Porsche for more info when they found differences between cars of the same year and model. Seems that even Porsche has no info for every car/year....

If the picture is not from the original set, they say so by marking 'reproductie' under the years and car specs.

Sorry, most of the info is in Dutch, but everybody can look at the pictures.

My 1972 E owner’s manual includes a hi-res black & white picture of the tool kit for that year. Would it be fair to assume that the original vintage-specific manuals would a good starting point to find out what tools comprise a complete set (and the tool bag style and material)?
