Floor board question

I have a dumb question. On my driver side floor board there is a metal sleeve that is most likely for the rod for the accelerator. When I put the rod through the sleeve, the accelerator binds and sticks and the car s undriveable. I cannot seem to adjust the board to get it to work without binding. I have been routing the accelerator outside the board and can drive that way without any binding issues.

As designed, Should the rod be going through the metal sleeve/hole? What am I doing wrong?

Everything is stock original.

Here is a pic of a similar floor board for reference.

Any help?

Isn't the metal thing above the cut out for the accelerator the pedal stop? I think the accelerator rod just goes under the ^ shaped cutout in the wood.

The rod does not go through the piece on the right.
In this picture you can see on the left is the plate for the stop for the clutch pedal, and the right is the stop for the gas pedal. Their should be a piece in the center that screws in and out, part# 901 551 671 20.

Does anyone know the bolt size for the pedal stop?

The Porsche part number is for a nylon bolt which doesn't match the above pic. Do I have to use a nylon bolt?

Thanks guys.

A page from the factory parts manual should ID that part and part number. Does it have to be plastic? If otherwise regular threads, I don't see why not. Plastic might be more forgiving and self locking depending on how hard/often you bury the pedal while driving.

There is likely a reason it was missing-- more acceleration! I regularly drive my car at full throttle when fully warmed up as it is only 150 hp (feels much faster) and it is so much fun and sounds great.

I tried a regular hex bolt (M6 or M8) and the bolt threads were ever so slightly larger than the pedal stop. I will gently experiment with a different size bolt.

Throttle linkage is adjustable at front, middle (at gearbox) and at the engine to restore proper throttle range.
