Need a basic alignment in So Cal.

Nothing fancy, just someone who knows the car and knows what they're doing (basically I don't want to come back to crushed oil lines and my rear wheels with positive camber ). Looking to spend $200 or less.

thanks guys,

amir

All that for 300, ***** I guess I'll wait until my next paycheck and just take it to him. Thanks for the tip MJ.

Another Porsche shop which shall remain nameless quoted me $500 for alignment and corner balance.....

i will second 82SC's motion. it is a bit of a drive for you, but, it is nice to have people that know what they are doing, and care about the finished product working on your car. they worked on my C2S from shop opening to shop closing, changing my whole suspension and installing RS swaybars, 4 wheel alignment etc., for $450. the car handles/tracks like a dream! max

If you go with Johnson's Alignment make sure that Steve Alacon (sp?) does the work himself .
I've also gone to, andrecommended, West Coast Alignment. Darren is the owner and does the work himself. He learned at johnson's Alignment.

Funny you should mention doctor, my friend swears by Darren at West Coast, his "drag" setup helped my buddy pull a 12.0 1/4 mile time in his stock turbo 300ZX.......hmm, decisions decisions.

Haig's Alignment - take it there.

It's on Sherman Wy. in North Hollywood. Gary Haig's fair, straight up, and he knows how to align a 911 ... he's been doing work for my dad for more than 20 years.

Just remember, you get what you pay for.

Darren @ West Coast, Steve Alercon's main guy for 14 years, he is a one man shop so he is definitely doing the work. He charged me $300.00 for 4 wheel align, lower ride height, corner balance w/ me in car, etc. Excellent work and can do 911 suspension work in his sleep.

I'm due for an alignment too, thought I'd have some turbo tie rods and a bump steer kit done at the same time.
I'll give Darren a call

Call Klaus Holthaus at NARW in Reseda (which is very close to you). He's a Porsche expert. As I recall, he aligned my car to factory specs and the charge was in the $200 range.

My vote goes to Darren at West Coast. He did my car with great results, and NO attitude, compared to Steve Alarcon. Steve's one of the best, he knows it, and made sure I knew it too. He has a couple hench men doing his work, so i wasn't sure if he was going to even touch my car.
High prices and an attitude(Steve @ Johnson's Alignment)-something i could do without.

Ouch, Let me apologize to MIK911 for a attitude. I don't
remember the conversation we had in January of 2002,
maybe I had a bad day like your eariler post or maybe I
had a room full of customers and cut you short on our
conversation. It just is not how I treat anyone. As far as my
Technicians, out of the four that I employ two I personally
trained to work on the Porsche Street or Race Car set up.
We do a lot of track set-up for both the Porsche Club of America
and the Porsche Owners Club.
Let me say that Darren does excellent work and as well as
Hersheimer's. My price for a Four Wheel Aligment is $120.00
which is about the same as Darin or Mark.
The most important recommendation I can make is that the
communication is made with the customer when they arrive to
do the work on the car.
The Manager or Technician should ask these questions:
Are you having any problems with your car?
What kind of driving do you do?
These two question will allow the technician to solve possiable
problems and to set up the car for your style of driving.
Hope this helps......
If anyone has any question about Suspension and
what Torsion Bars or Sway Bars to buy, feel fee to E-mail me
at SUSPSPEC3@aol.com.
I will try to get back to you as soon as possiable.

Steve Alarcon

Burbank Alignment in North Hollywood is very good. He's very familiar with 911's, he's not a racer, but a very nice, knowledgable guy with very reasonable prices. (818) 761-4038
