Source for gauge bezels?

The first owner of my 911 put white overlays on in the 80’s. I’m working on taking them off and cleaning all the adhesive residue off my original faces.

That being said, the fuel level gauge/oil level gauge needs a new bezel. I found it glued on around the edges with an epoxy as the lip of the bezel was too short to bend over the lip of the housing.

Anyone have a spruce to find a new black bezel?

FVD Brombacher. They also sell full sets. High quality.

Had to order a new speedo face from Heiler-Tachodesign as there was so much adhesive put on the face it really messed it up. So happy to not have ugly white gauges in this car anymore.

Just curious, how will you re crimp the outer ring back on to close up the gauges?

A big ole flat head screw driver. It’s a slow process. Push down on the back the the gauge housing and slowly work the edge of the bezel over the lip of the housing. For the clock and the speedo since they have the trip reset and dial that extend out past the outer bezel and don’t lay flat, I lay them over a roll duct tape and those in the hole in the side of the tape so I can get them to lay flat.

Looks much better. Where did you get the face for the tach? Why no needles on the speedo?

Jbell959 made the tach. It’s a 70-73 core with an updated board. Moves the highbeam light down to the bottom instead of between the turn signals like 2.7/3.0/3.2 tachs.

As for the speedo, 5 years ago I broke the needle off while repairing the trip.. Honestly i’ve never needed it as I know my speed in every gear off of rpm alone. Maybe one of these days ill fix it.

Oh. I was going to ask you how you removed and refitted the speedo needle. But LOL I guess you're not the right guy to ask.

I need to get a kilometre face for my speedo and pull it to bits and replace it. I don't really want to do this as I need to replace the odometer gear and the trip meter gear. Just for your info, someone on this forum figured out how to tune these speedos to be accurate.

Useful video here on how to take apart the speedo. Includes needle removal.

Thanks for posting FVD...i tried sourcing bezels all over and didnt know they had them..ended up buying a used clock housing with a good bezel just to get the external bezel and one of the internals. My way was cheaper but for new..fvd appears to be the only game in town (I even asked North HW and Palo Alto and J Bell and they didnt have spares)
