Windshield wiper switch

I "fixed" my windshield wiper switch a few weeks ago and my wiper blades happily parked themselves correctly and my intermittent wiper worked - for a while. I think its been less than a couple of months and the symptoms have returned. Is there a secret to fixing these, or is my best bet just to replace the switch?

Thanks!

Cool

OK Brian.. I saw Washington and figure wipers are a must have, LOL.. I didn't see what model you have under a signature.. so this is my best shot.. this should apply to you, we hope..

the wiper switch and the motor have a bunch of contacts that get pitted.. there is even grease inside the motor to dirty up the internal motor contacts.. the intermitent sw. is more fun.. the motor contacts are easily accessed.. I would write down where all the wires are connected to.. it's not really a difficult job, but a patient one, LOL.. the diagram may be the only way to follow the problem circuit.. the motor is serious money, so is the switch ......Ron

Brian, I too had/have the same problem. I tried without a whole lot of luck to fix my wiper switch as well. I pried the contacts apart and checked their operation, still no parking until I think I fixed it so much that I really broke it. At the time my wipers would not park but worked fine using the stalk switch. The intermittent was indeed just that, they worked intermittently. Sometimes they would work as planned then they would just start operating continuously and then would not park. So I replaced the switch. Now they operate just fine on intermittent but still do not park when on normal speeds. Not sure where to go to next. Like Ron said the motor is expensive, but so was the switch. There are some good threads on the subject if you do a search. If you figure it out let me know. Good luck!
