Clock falls out with phone mount

So I got one of those renn line phone mounts and it’s good. Except that now since it pulls the clock out slightly, the clock doesn’t seat correctly and it falls out. Anyone else having this issue

Something is not right. Maybe improper installation? I have the clock, then the phone mount, then the rubber mounting ring. The whole assembly is then pressed into the clock hole. Press everything together. It holds very well.

Rubber seal has to be behind the mount. I have them in 2 cars, no issues.

That might be it, I’ll have a look. Thanks

I have one in and SC and another in a 930. One of them is a little looser than the other. My guess is the seal on that one has shrunk a bit.

If everything else checks out, I’ve been known to run a few wraps of electrical tape on the clock under the rubber ring, the added pressure will tighten up the clock fit.

I had the same issues with the Rennlist clock mount. Every time I nudged it or pulled the phone off, the gauge would pop out. Changed to a different mount.

I have two of these in my cars. In my '70 the rubber seal is old and not as rubbery as the one in my 993. For the meantime I put some tape around the inside of the hole in the dash. You can't see it, but I'm ordering a new rubber ring as I'm sure that will fix the issue. Overall super happy with the phone mount (but I did modify to use an iPhone MagSafe charger instead)

Didn’t come with any. I remember looking for them. Also didn’t see any on their website.

I just added a couple of wraps of electrical tape to the clock itself, then pulled the rubber sleeve over the tape and shoved it back in place. That made the sleeve have a nice tight fit, and solved the issue of it falling out if bumped.

That's a better idea! I'm gong to do this today.

A section of a MTB inner tube stretched over the clock body can also work in place of electrical tape. Just clean off the talc so it’s not slippery.

My Rennline phone mount works fine. I'd try applying some tape as mentioned to get a new rubber gasket and give that a go.
