Car is just like me....

All,
While I seem to be losing hair rapidly.......my 77 911S seems to be doing the same thing with air vent fins!

I want to replace the center console (where all the fins are almost gone) with this one I found.

Looks like its simply held in by the 2 top notches. Just don't want to screw up the dash.

Anyone done this or have any pointers?

Thanks

There are two more tabs on the bottom. I suggest trying a non-marring pry tool. Like this one https://www.amazon.com/Pro-Fit-International-DM-40-22-Dash-Removal/dp/B002LE8CPS or this https://www.ipdusa.com/products/4801/Multi-Purpose-Trim-Bone-Tool-Genuine-Volvo-9814071-110595

Yep, just the 4 clips, and they are a challenge to get them all to let go. I used a nylon pry tool and just kept working on the four clips to get them to let go and once they are finally out the entire thing slides out. It is a super simple thing to put in the new one. I did use a damp rag to clean some dust and dirt out of the vent hole before sliding the new on into place.

Overall a really easy project, just frustrating and don't get mad and yank on it.

Thanks Glen......that's certainly my tendency to get frustrated and start forcing.

I'll take my time
