Carrera Flywheel Sensors - Which is top and bottom?
I lost track when replacing the sensors which goes in which sensor plug in the engine compartment. In a 1985 Carrera, does it matter which plug goes the the upper and which gpes to the lower sensor on the flywheel? I imagine they are picking up different timing marks, or have an offset programmed so want to get them plugged in right the first time..
Thanks ![]() ![]()

Stock, the top one on the flywheel bracket goes to the lower one on the engine bracket.

Sensor orientation.......
This is the trick I use to remember the orientation of these sensors by using the alphabet (RST).
@ transmission side bracket: R (reference) upper S (speed) lower @ cylinder head #3: T (temperature) Now, for the different connectors by the fuel rail: Flip over the R/S/T orientation to T/S/R. The speed sensor (DG) remains unchanged and always at the middle. Just remember your ABC...to.....RST. Tony |
