Get off my lawn!

It is all just a personal preference. I prefer the more natural tree background than a building.

counterpoint, wondering whether the red background would cause the green car to "Pop" (highlight its color) vs the bright Viper Green would potentially blend into the natural green background. You might want to discuss these issues (and get suggestions) from the professional photographer? Lighting (angle/direction/time of day/natural vs artificial) will also play an important role.
Can you drive the car itself to each location and shoot a few non-professional shots (on your phone, etc.) to get a better flavor? |

Here's a location I used last year and in the fall and I thought it came out great. Can't use that location at this time of the year because of all the fisherman parking their vehicles by 5am.

I agree with the more natural background.
Here is a recent "portrait" of my black '87, in a background that approximates the central German countryside (e.g. what I remember seeing between Heidelberg & Würtzburg). Alternately, one could use a background that is more dramatically architectural. ![]() Btw, I really like bcgreen's first 911 photo - the color contrast is great and the out-of-focus background emphasizes the car. bcgreen -- both those fotos look great, but to my eyes the contrast between the brown fence and the car in the first picture, and the grey house and stone wall in the second picture creates the contrast that causes your car to "pop" in each picture. The dirt in the left foreground of the wooded background picture you posted could do the same, but remain concerned that if you only used the green trees/shrubbery as your background, you may not find your car as well highlighted.

The orange and green are optically interactive colors. They will compete with the eye (brain, actually) for dominance. That is, they each will want to be the foreground and background color at the same time and this will give a vibrating effect- it’s really engaging and plays with our interpretation of space but for a “portrait” it might be too much.
The wooded green will fade away with the viper green if lit properly. I’d recommend trying to catch the golden hour so that the car catches the warm light and glows. Also using a shallow depth of field will help blur out the wooded background making for a soft backdrop for a sharp car.

Looks pretty close to golden hour- it’s that time right before the sun sets when everything looks gilded- it’s a very warm and intense light.

Interesting when you put in the search box 'Porsche 911R' you get 1 vehicle.

![]() This a no Photoshop tweaked right from my camera image of my car in the Smokey Mountains. The car was running, and I jumped out, took the photo and left. 15 seconds total. ![]() This is one I paid for from the photographers on the Tail of the Dragon. The background for your bright green car is going to be just that, the background. ![]() My urban background photo, right from my cell phone camera.

Personally prefer a more natural backdrop especially if you are able to get some rolller shots!
