Slop in steering wheel

Hi Guys, Just finished a 500 mi trip in my SC and it ran flawlessly (would have enjoyed a/c though) and I've just noticed up and down slop in the steering wheel.
Where should I start looking to correct this?
Is this accessed directly under the dash in the car or under the frunk area? I'll be giving this job to my mechanic but I'd like to know a bit more of what's involved so I have a better understanding of what he has to do.
Thx

Most likely the bushing located behind/under the wheel.

There's a bushing just under the steering wheel that is a common point of failure. Rennline makes an easy to install replacement. From there, there is a bearing and a U joint under the Frunk, then the rack itself which is connected under the car.

Thanks guys, looks simple enough that I will attempt the installation myself.
Not having much luck locating the bearing on the Rennline site but I'll keep trying.
Thx.

If it is only up and down, I would check the bolts holding your steering column in place too.

Good point. There is some play side to side but not as pronounced as the up/down movement. I'll check those bolts once I'm in there.
Thx.

You'll need a 27mm wrench for the big steering wheel nut.
