1984 Dash Defroster Switch
So I cannot find a definitive answer to this. How do I access the back of the defroster, defogger switch on my dash. Do I pull it hard? I’m afraid to break it. I’m trying to access the back of it without pulling out the entire air circulation assembly in the frunk. Any help is appreciated.

You have to pull out the entire blower and air circulation unit. Royal PITA, so it might be worth it to wait until you have other things to do back there…

Can it be accessed by removing the radio and radio tray?

No, there is dash sheet metal that curves above/over the radio hole and glovebox etc.
Years ago, I could just barely reach the back of the lighter wiring with the center A/C duct removed along with the cardboard cover for the blower unit on my 78. I have long arms, I couldn’t reach the defog wiring, plus you are working blind. After just replacing my entire dash harness while adding electric A/C, I know there is no way I could have reached it.

Thanks. I did end up carefully removing the air assembly. It wasnt too bad. I laid the parts on a table as I took them off. The whole job probably took about 2 hours of my time.
