cigarette lighter

Mine still works but will not hold anything tightly to make a good connection, is it a pain to replace, I would guess nor, and any recommendations on replacement. Thanks in advance.

It is a European size cigar lighter. There are some threads on how to make it work with the equipment of today. Just search for the phrases cigarette lighter and you will find the threads.

I’m confused (pun intended) about the idea that the cigarette lighter is not fused. In the Bentley manual (and I confirmed it on the fuse panel lid in my car) fuse 13 allegedly includes the cigarette lighter. Would this not be a fuse for the cigarette lighter?

On a related note, I've seen it mentioned that you can purchase a Porsche replacement cigarette lighter which is the modern american size, not the problematic european DIN size.

Anyone know which is the correct part to purchase? I already have the blower out so replacing the lighter is pretty easy.

Anyone know if the "Cigarette Lighter Socket Upgrade - 1997-01" from Suncoast Parts will work as a replacement? I would post a link but I think our host disallows that.
