1989 Carrera 3.2 Suddenly Won’t Start

I washed my car no problem this morning and then let it run a couple minutes to warm up before going for a ride.

Ten minutes later went to leave and it won’t turn over. It comes close to turning over but just does not. When I looked at the engine everything looks fine but one wire is not plugged in. Not sure where it plugs in as I see no missing connections.

Any ideas?

Not cranking at all? Start with verifying battery voltage. If battery voltage is present, I'd probably take the battery in to have it load tested. If that checks out then you have to start checking grounds.

How old is the battery? It's not unheard of for a 4 or 5 year old battery to just die.

On that wire, does your heater fan work? I think that's the wire that powers the heater fan.

The loose connector looks like the one for the blower motor.
(Not related to a cranking issue)

Thanks for the reply’s. Okay so sounds like the wire has nothing to do with my problem. I had the engine pad replaced at my last service so I am guessing they did not hook it back up. I live in FL so never use the heater so did not notice any issues.

After letting the car sit for a while it now starts however it seems to idle rough and the idle seems to dip almost to a stall. Is this possibly the DME relay? I am afraid to drive it not knowing 100% what the problem is.
