1985 Headlights: U.S. vs. RoW

Oddly this is something that I have not thought about until today. The U.S. cars were condemned to use sealed beam headlights until the 1990's when halogen finally became available. And of course RoW cars went to halogens with H4's. OK, we all know that. But here is my question.

The U.S. cars have mounting tabs inside the fender headlight buckets for mounting the H5's. Do the RoW cars also have those tabs in their fender headlight buckets?

Thanks,
John

The Euro H4s are way better than the H5s. Even a good quality 7" round H4 is better than an H5. Not sure why anyone would recommend switching to them.

Now with the availability of really good quality LED "retro fits" from Audette Collection at a competitive price compared to the Euro H4s, it makes them a really good upgrade. These use the excellent quality JW Speaker 8700 Evo 2 7" round lights and for an even cheaper solution you could just put the 8700s in the sugar scoops.

I am still waiting for someone to make a LED bulb for the sugar scoop, that are not horrible ugly and look so wrong. I want a bulb with the look of the old sealed beam, but LED bulbs. I just can't see putting the modern focused bulbs clear lens things on my 85 911. It is like the stereo head unit with flashing LED lights and something from a modern Japanese car in a 911. It just looks wrong.

Just my opinion. And yes, I prefer the sugar scoops! My car will remain looking the way I want it.
