23mm master cylinder question...

i'm looking for a 23mm master and wondering if anyone who's done this can give me a part# or a lead on where to purchase? i heard it's a MBZ product but not sure. looking for the non-booster version. TIA

Depends on the year
for boosted card from '77 up use the 930 m/c

for non boosted use ATE (ports face left) # 03-2123-3402.3

for the latter ATE you also need a longer 105x7mm actuating rod, and 2x 45° plastic fill fittings + usually a few feet of fiber fill hose

These parts used to come in a nice kit

I used to get the kits from JWE, I hear they are still in operation on a limited basis or perhaps give Steve Weiner a buzz

The 911 Turbo mc is a 23mm. Buy it here from the host of this website that is providing all the info on 'how to' DIY and access to the hundreds of Porschefiles!

thanks for the replies. this would be for a non-boosted car. i found this online, part# is 03-2123-3402.3 so can i assume it's the correct one? doesn't include the angle plugs but i already have the hose and adjustable pushrod.

I believe there's a 90 degree elbow off a 993 clutch master cylinder that will also fit and work as the 90 degree elbow for the 23 mm brake m/c. That part number is 911-423-923-00. I haven't tried this yet though so I'm not certain it'll work.

The ATE part number for the 23 mm m/c (non-boosted) appears to be correct based on the fact that it matches the part number I received in a kit I purchased recently (ATE 03.2123-3402.3) - ports facing left for left hand drive cars.

You may also need a 10 mm plug if your existing m/c is like mine which has two brake lines coming off 1 port as seen in the following photo. Ignore the 23 mm m/c i'm holding on up this photo. It was a different 23 mm m/c with ports facing passenger side.

so looks like the one i saw has the manufacturers part number of 002.430.93.01 and/or 537.33006.237 but it's interchangeable with 03.2123-3402.3

comparing it to yours @lightbulb8817 it's a little different configuration. does it appear that way to you also?

Ignore the 23 mm m/c with the blue tape on it in my photo. That's not the correct one and it doesn't match the part number i gave. I returned it to get the correct one.

Here's a 23 and a stock 19, the 19 has the pressure actuated brakelight switch, the 23 needs to have a switch on the brake pedal

Here's a 23 installed, There's more room w/ an alloy cross member than w/ a steel version

I was told a push rod from '67-68 will work, but i haven't tried it myself.

thanks for the heads up and thanks bill for the pics. i went to hardware store and only found a grade 10.9 bolt in the size i needed. it's a little overkill but i picked it up anyways. i'm going to attempt to cut and round the end off but i don't have high hopes cause this sucker is hardend.

as a backup, i called pms and they sold me one of their pushrods and 90* elbows so i should be covered!

I have a 23mm MS in my 73 hot rod that I just purchased. It came with 930 front rotors & calipers, but the set up is quite stiff when depressing the brake pedal. Still trying to figure out if the oversized 23mm MS is the reason for this.

It's hard to tell w/o knowing what the rear spec is
