997.2 LSD options

Have been taking my 997.2 c2s to tracks a couple of times, have started to feel the lack of LSD on the car is limiting me. Last weekend on a skidpad I can hardly get the rear end out if at all.

What are the good LSD options for the car?

This is the air-cooled forum. You should post this question in the 997 forum instead.

996 & 997 use Aisan transmissions except for GT3 and turbo

There are few if any performance parts for these, unlike the Getrags used in older 911s and GT3 tt

We make an LSD for them, though they have fallen out of popularity in recent years.

All the top teams used them in Grand Am Contintental Tire GS class racing, including 3 championships with Rum Bum and BGB Motorsports. When the 997 was retired and replaced by the GT4 Clubsport, demand dropped to zero.

PCA club racers rarely built 997 Carrera racecars because they had the Cup Car available to them and building a 997 up from scratch wasn't competitive against the Caymans in GTB. Pretty much only ex-Conti cars are seen in the PCA these days unless it's a Cup.

That takes care of the lsd, how about all the other little bits that track use eats up

Which bits? The gearbox is actually quite robust and better than the 996 Carrera Getrag box. All the major service parts are available and it’s got shorter ratios to boot.

The chassis is all 997, and compatible with GT3/Cup upgrades. The engine and the gearbox are the main difference.
