Media blast for RSR look on fuchs???

I have a set of fuchs that I want to refinish on RSR look.

Anyone know what grit of glass bead to use in the barrels?

I want that nice aluminum frost.

Youtube didn't help.... Not very detailed

After Im done I'll paint the petals black.

I can't help with the grit size of glass bead, but you might first try plastic media (recycled plastic). I used it recently on some FUCHs caps, and it worked perfectly...very easy to control the desired finish.

I too am considering this exact RSR finish. If this doesn’t work, I’ll send them off for a proper RSR finish.

I submerged my rims in water until I got to the desired depth then used Eastwood 2K rattle can epoxy paint to add the silver for the pedals and lip. The water masked off the black recess.

I had mine glass bead blasted (glass bead mixed with water) and the finish was seductively satin. So beautiful. Unfortunately it was such a fine tooth that it was almost impossible to get dirt and oils out of it. In addition I would have had to anodize them to protect them so I opted to paint the rims with silver and satin black. I can wash them off and they look perfect.

#6 glass bead, Then clear anodized.

Cheers
