Front Swaybar Mount Reinforcement Panels
I have a 1977 911 that has some stress cracks around the sway bar, I found the Elephant Racing plates but in all honesty this job is far beyond my skills as full front suspension has to be taken down, plus the welding and painting involved.
How much does a job like this is worth?, how many hours involved? The car is in pretty good shape so the job has to be properly done. Thanks for any advice! ![]() |

Maybe go back to the stock, under body setup.

Assume the car may have had factory through-body sway bar? Regardless, if you already have cracks in the tub in that area, then you need a repair which will require welding and paint.
There are other sway-bar support plates out there that are not as aggressive as the Elephant Racing pieces. So your repair work, with the addition of a strengthening plate, may be confined to just the area where the sway bar comes through the chassis. A good shop should be able to do this without removal of the suspension. However, in either case you will need to remove the gas tank to treat and re-paint the backside area.
