Does anyone know the bolt circle dimensions of the transmission output flange? I want to measure the preload on my limited slip differential

To answer your question, depending on the year and model 100mm or 108mm.

The easiest way is weld a socket on a bar, then u can do any of them, 914, small 911, big 911. No bold pattern necessary.

Here is one from the service manual, local manufacturer. They just run a nut and bolt thru the hole in the middle.

How did you cut the square hole in the center?
Thanks, Rahl

what is the breakaway torque supposed to be? my wheel turns pretty easily by hand with one wheel up and in neutral. I couldnt find anything about it in the books. It seems to work fine when in use. Other limited slips iv worked on were over 100 up to 200

Thanks thats a relief. I was thinking maybe i could test it with a torque wrench on the hub nut but when i gave it a turn by hand I didnt bother

For which transmission and LSD? FWIW, the factory manuals have a few errors in the measurement they list for a given technique.

For a two-disc LSD original to that car, I would look for 10 to 35 Nm measured with both sides active, that is, with one end in an output flange clamped to a vice, the other with your wand-style torque wrench measuring turning torque.
![]() By "two disc," I mean a "40%" LSD with one clutch disc on either side of the pack.
