ICV Availability?

I just checked our host, and some other sites for an ICV for my 85 Carrera. 930-606-161-00. Unavailable. Just curious, does anyone know if there is a cross-reference part, or other sources? They seem to be priced like real estate, as the saying goes...and now maybe not readily available? (Incidentally, I've dismantled and cleaned mine and not much has changed. It works. Just not well, is my guess)

Mark

Do you get an open/closed response on your ohmmeter from your closed throttle micro-switch?
That has to function in order to bring the ICV into play.

I'll have to check again this weekend... I'm fairly certain I did - I went through this all last year before swapping out the 02 sensor.

Mark, you can usually find replacements on Amazon or evilBay. This image is from an Amazon listing (this supplier is out of stock, but was selling ~$32 before) that shows cross-application to other makes/models. Might be worth searching your favorite parts sources using these other fitments. GL

I've seen these before, like for certain Volvo's. I guess Bosch is going to re-use the same device for multiple applications. I'll have to look more into this, thanks.

BTW, I'm using one right now on my '85; works perfectly.

Went on a mission looking for alternatives to the $300 Porsche part and can confirm the same Bosch part number was used in certain model Volvos. This was years ago and ended up getting it for 50. But this is a dead simple machine and I would put one of those knock off ebay ones in my car so fast today…there are things worth spending on, this ain’t one of them.

You may also want to try this link from Germany. A little more pricey with customs and shipping, but seems like a reputable source.

Thanks. Yah, it is a super simple machine - I completely dismantled mine last year.

I have one of these in my car after searching high and low in vain for a Bosch unit. So far so good.

I used a 58$ one on my 85, still had to do the procedure of setting idle and CO after making sure there were no vacuum leaks.
