964 fender on 911SC

I believe the answer is no, but can a fender from a 964 be used as a replacement onto a 911SC?

I’ve done more research since I made this post and it seems that there will be no hole for the antenna on the passenger side. On the drivers side the gas cap area is different. And there may be some mounting tabs that need to be trimmed.

True, gas opening interior filler area on most later fenders have a plastic interior
piece as opposed to the welded in metal piece on an SC. However the
later fender with the plastic piece can be made to work. Look up diagrams
for later fenders in PET. If you find a fender, ask to check the gas filler area for the plastic piece.

I removed the filler pocket from my SC fender and after grinding off the spot welds and removing the old steel flange from the original fender the pocket slips right over the bolting flange on the 964 fender. I just had to drill four bolts in the old bucket and bolt it in. It was a perfect fit. I would have plug welded it but the paint on the fender was a perfect match so I just went with it.

Fenders from 74-89 are all interchangeable, however antennas did switch from drivers side to passenger side depending on year.

At my knowledge that is merely depending on either the mix of AC and manual or electric antenna.

Cars with AC have the drier cartridge at left mounted at A pillar.
This reduced room for the body of an electric (Hirschmann) antenna.

So cars with order list with AC and electric antenna had the antenna mounted to the right.

Happy to learn more if I’m wrong.

Flojo..The drier is in the wheel well and the manual antena is in the door jam..
So manual antennas were used on DS. till 1980(depence if Euro OR US).The location of the hole was a little different on 1978-79 on the right fender. Also it was and option if the clients wanted el.antena or manual. After, all antennas were on the PS electric..
Electric antennas were never on the left side...
