Anodized Fuchs center cap?

Hello, I'm looking for a set of Fuchs center caps to go with my new Fuchs Evo wheels.

It looks like the new stock of center caps are painted, black or silver -

Which will give a lousy match to the new anodized wheels -

(not my pic)

I considered stripping, polishing and anodizing a new set, but with the zinc plated steel back ring, I don't think that will be possible (unless there is a trick to remove/replace the steel ring?)

Any tricks to re-plate the caps?

I think you will not have very good luck trying to anodize. Perhaps you could use a satin gloss clear coat on the caps to more closely match the finish on the wheels.

Polish them then scotch brite them or simply paint them black.

JB I think might be on to something. After the paint is gone, a fine scuff and then a light polish to get some lustre might work.

The three bosses on the back of the cap are studs that are cast into the cap. The ring is fitted over and the bosses are set in the same way as a solid rivet. You'll have to Dremel or drill the bosses out to remove the ring.

Reattach the ring with with M3 screws and Loctite Red or low durometer structural epoxy on the threads.

Thanks for the info Shaun. That is what I'll do.

I've had good luck bonding aluminum with loctite adhesives, add some m3 screws and it should be good to go!
