Pelican Parts Anyone want to buy my cars?

Okay, Wayne needs to start paring down his car collection. I've come to the sad realization that I will probably never have the time to adequately put into these cars. I actually realized this the day we founded Pelican - I knew that the one thing that would suffer would be my cars. Needless to say, my 914-6 conv has been on the road for about a total of 200 miles since the business was founded. Needless to say, the 914-6 conversion is not for sale.

The two cars I would like to sell are my 356 and my 911SC. Both cars are good drivers, but I just don't have the time to treat them like they should. The 1960 356B coupe is an excellent driver, with a powerfull ~100HP 912 engine (big bore kit), champagne paint job, excellent interior. It's a good driver all around. It has some rust in the front, but the floorpans are all solid (previously replaced). It has a new clutch (using NOS, hard-to-find parts that Tom had in his garage). I also recently replaced the brake lines and the master cylinder. I think that the brake cylinders should be replaced next. The gauges are all good, and the tach was recently rebuilt (haven't even installed it yet). New gas tank sender and a bunch of other parts added/replaced too. The driver's side regulator has been giving me trouble after trying to fix it twice - I would recommend replacement. The paint looks good from about five feet away, but is cracking in places. I'm looking to get $13,000, which I think is a fair price for the car. This car was used and can be seen in the movie "Almost Famous" if that counts for anything.

The 1982 911SC is a strange one. I have had this in storage for the past year and a half. This is the car that was used and featured in 101 Projects for Your Porsche 911, so it is a semi-famous 911, I suppose. The engine was recently rebuilt (1000mi), but there are some oil leaks with it - it will probably need to be resealed. Compression and leakdown are excellent, and it passed CA smog easily. The car has a bunch of things that are half-done on it, as I didn't have enough time to finish a bunch of projects after shooting photos for the book. Just a little bit of work on someone's part, and this 911 will make an excellent car. It drives very well - some suspension components are new, although I can't remember which ones I replaced (my sole purpose with the car back then was for photos for the book). The rear window has not be reinstalled, but is temporarily held in place. A brand-new carpet kit is about 80% installed - looks great, just haven't had time to finish. A buttload of other things have been replaced and fixed - just see 101 Projects. Newly installed front-mounted Carrera oil cooler with all the goodies (fan is installed, but not hooked up). I have two sets of wheels for the car right now, one set with chromed Fuchs, and one set with black centers - your choice. New cambermeister bar - not completely installed. I had it recently lowered to European specs and aligned by Alex at PreTech. The paint is old and tired, and it definitely needs new, but no major body work required. Sunroof all repaired and working well. I'm looking to get about $13,500 for this one. With about 100 hours of work, it will be a very nice, potentially collectible car with a bit of notoriety.

Any interest? Please let me know...

-Wayne

Do you still have the 356's original engine (in any condition) available?

Buy.. just bought a BMW to patronize the OTHER pelican parts..

Can I rent it for a week if you still have it this august? I'll be in LA/Palm Springs and desperately want to use a p-car for a week/day/hour in California.

Jokeing, but serious too.

Thumbs up

That 356 is gorgeous! It's the right car for me at the wrong time. (finances) I still have one in college.
