Spark Plug Socket Size for 77 2.7L 911S

When I purchased my car it didn't come with a toolset, I therefore need to know the socket size of the spark plugs so I can by an aftermarket tool such as the Gearwrench swivel tool popular with many on this forum - it comes in 2 sizes: 5/8" and 13/16". The Pelican article says 13mm (which is about 1/2"), did they mean 13/16 ? I'm likely looking for equivalent for the Bosch w235p21 referred to in the owner's manual.

Thanks
Tony

Yes, they meant 13/16.

The Gearwrench 13/16 magnetic socket is the one I prefer.

Magnetic being the key word here. Those plugs are way down in there so being magnetic will help out a lot.

Magnetic for sure, and also get a little grabber claw or a magnet on a flexible arm for when the the plug falls down and you start *****ting bricks.

You will need an extension to a standard spark plug socket to get to the plug. I use a 3" one that I gorilla tape to the socket so it does not separate inside the valve cover.

Personally - I've found after 35 years of Porsche 911 SC ownership [1980 911 SC - the best spark plug tool is the one in the 911 toolkit... just works the best for me..

Indeed but the OP does not have a factory tool kit with this tool.
