Want to know how to create a long nightmare of tuning woes?
Take a decent filter that’s been working great for years and flip it so that all of the crap it’s been gathering now goes directly into your carburetor. Then go for a drive. Then chase idling issues, lean issues, float level issue, AFR issue’s etc.. then tear the carburetor apart, clean it out , adjust everything etc. Ponder where the black crap that’s clogging crap up is coming from. Blame it on black magic. Then go for another drive. Rinse, repeat. Give up. Then the magical moment, when I remember that I had the left bank fuel lines off and the filter, but not the right side one. Light bulb moment. This is the clean side: ![]() This is the dirty side: ![]()

That's how we clean filters at work!
Cheaper and less spares in storage.
